A 67-year-old man drowned in the Pallikaranai lake on Saturday.The Tambaram Police said Chakravarthy was a resident of Thulukkanathamman Koil Street in Pallikaranai and engaged in construction work.On Saturday evening, after consuming alcohol, he went to the Pallikaranai Lake, accompanied by four of his friends for taking bath. As Chakravarthy was intoxicated, he unknowingly ventured into the deeper part of the water and drowned. The Pallikaranai Police on being alerted, along with the fire and rescue personnel of the Pallikaranai station, recovered the body after two hours. The body was sent to the Tambaram Government Hospital for post-mortem.
