AMD Submits More Graphics Driver Changes For Linux 7.2 Written by Michael Larabel in Radeon on 30 May 2026 at 09:39 AM EDT. Add A Comment On Friday was the latest AMDGPU/AMDKFD pull request landing more kernel graphics/compute driver improvements in DRM-Next ahead of the Linux 7.2 merge window happening in mid-June. This latest round of "more stuff" for the Linux 7.2 kernel with the AMDGPU kernel graphics driver and AMDKFD kernel compute driver are largely around bug fixes. There is also some code clean-ups and other low-level changes but by and large it's about bug fixing. With Linux 7.1-rc6 due out tomorrow, we are approaching the cut-off of new feature material to DRM-Next for changes to land in Linux 7.2, thus beginning to focus more on bug fixing.
