Burns was the original host of the popular Nickelodeon show from 1996 until 2002, which shaped a generation of children as it reached audiences in more than 120 countries. He earned a daytime Emmy nomination for his work on the show. He reprised his role in the 2019 reboot Blue’s Clues & You! as a recurring character and mentor to the franchise’s new host, Josh Dela Cruz.
