FIFA unveil new VAR technology for offsides that will be used by assistants at World Cup 2026
FIFA has announced a new semi-automated offside technology for the 2026 World Cup that aims to speed up decision-making for assistant referees. This system will provide real-time audio alerts to officials when a player is offside by more than 10cm, allowing them to raise their flags sooner.
