The two aircraft were taking part in the Gunfighters Air Show at the Mountain Home Air Force Base, some 50 miles southeast of Boise, when they crashed, KTVB reported. Pictures from the scene show a huge plume of black smoke pouring into the sky following the crash, which happened on the second day of the air show. Two jets crashed midair during Sunday’s show. Facebook/Lucy Strauss Price Organizers, the Mountain Home Gunfighters, confirmed that the base was on lockdown in a statement posted on social media. The base was locked down after Sunday’s crash.
