Recuerdo que el presidente Mitterrand decía que la prensa era a veces banal, superficial e interesada, pero que sin prensa libre no había democracia. Además, en muchos países la existencia de un grupo no forzosamente grande, pero si cualitativamente influyente de periódicos –o medios de comunicación– de calidad, ha sido una de las columnas vertebrales del régimen democrático.
