Most lands in these villages are under paddy cultivation. “Unscheduled power cuts, especially after damage of electrical poles due to winds has affected farming as farmers were unable to operate motor pump sets to irrigate their land,” said G. Muthu, a farmer.Against this backdrop, many farming villages along Cheyyar river near Arani and Polur towns have been witnessing strong winds and rain.
