Vancouver-based Teck on Thursday reported a 25-per-cent jump in year-over-year copper production to just over 136,000 tonnes with the Highland Valley mine in Canada performing particularly well. The price of the commodity surged by 40 per cent year-over-year to an average of US$6.05 a pound in the quarter.
