Two killed and four others injured in a road accident on the outskirts of Thanjavur in the small hours of Saturday.According to the police, the accident occurred around 3 a.m. on Saturday when the car by which the deceased and the injured persons were travelling towards Ammapettai on the outskirts of Thanjavur from Thiruvaiyaru. The car driven by Thalapathy, 36 of Ammapettai rammed a palmyra tree on the kerb near Kandiyur.While Thalapathy and Thamizharasan, 27, died on the spot, four other occupants – Nithish, 25, Sudharsan, 21, Abinesh, 21, and Naren, 18 – were injured and rushed to the Thanjavur Medical College and Hospital.The Naducauvery police have registered a case and are investigating.
