A senior official of the Tambaram Police Commissionerate said that Srinivasan, a resident of an apartment complex in Ezhil Nagar, Perumbakkam, was taking his wife Malleswari, on his bike to the doctor.The couple was traveling towards Perumbakkam along the Nookampalayam Main Road when a car, while reversing, collided with their bike. Both the husband and wife were thrown off the vehicle. While Malleshwari suffered a serious head injury and was killed on the spot, Srinivasan escaped with minor injuries. The driver of the car reportedly fled the spot.
