Wheeler co-developed the equation that treats the entire universe as a quantum object. (Public domain, Niels Bohr Library & Archives) All you need to do to figure out the mystery of the beginning of the universe is to take your general theory of relativity and run the clock backwards to see what happens, you know, at the beginning. Except you can't. You can't because of one eensy teensy little problem, and that's the problem of the SINGULARITY.
